As a way of improving the service to the oil & gas company, Tullow in Takoradi, the team, under the direction of the Site Manager, Alex Clerk, redesigned the dining room area to give it more of a restaurant feel, and less of a canteen environment.

This was done in conjunction with the Tullow’s All Nations Day celebration, where GSS provided a celebratory meal and a cake decorated in the Tullow colours. The team also invited some of Takoradi top management and the facilities team to cut the cake. The changes were very well received by all Tullow staff once they entered the dining room and we got a great deal of positive feedback from diners!

This is just one of the initiatives to go above and beyond clients’ expectations and continue to take GSS from ‘good to great’.

Although GSS are currently going through some hard times in Ghana, the attitude of management and the team is resolute, and this was ever present in Tullow Accra with the recent appointment of a new Site Manager, Henry Atram, following the resignation of Sammy Annor, who has decided to move on to pastures new.

While all at GSS will miss Sammy, the team at Tullow Accra warmly accepted the new appointment of Henry, who was brought on board to use his commercial and restaurant background to inject some new concepts into the way we do daily business for the client.

Colin Mason, GSS Ghana Country Manager, said, “Henry Atram has been relentless in his attempts to learn the GSS way of life. He has not stood still and has made some very noticeable changes, which have been well received by the client. As we move forward, there are a number of new initiatives that will be piloted in Accra under the supervision of Henry. Once they have been fine-tuned, they will be rolled out across the business”.

Well done team and welcome onboard Henry!
