GSS Ghana proves its excellence with AMS26th June 2014
GSS embarked on another new contract, providing catering and housekeeping services to our client AMS, on a remote site in Ghana. The team, under the supervision of the new site manager Francis Wormenor, jumped straight into the fire as they began serving their first meals on the 1st of August.
With no opportunity to fully familiarise themselves with the equipment and environment, the team nevertheless started preparing and cooking meals throughout a 24-hour shift to cater to some very hungry and expectant miners.
In addition to the challenges faced by the team to deliver GSS’ outstanding service, and jumping straight into the shoes of the outgoing contractor, it wasn’t long before they rose to their next big challenge of organising a VIP event to the AMS senior managers, who were hosting their directors from Accra and Australia. In addition, there were VIP guests from the Senior Mining Company, Perseus Mining, whose General Manager was in attendance and spoke very highly of the food on offer.
“He was so impressed with the quality of food and joined some of the junior miners for lunch the following day, who were all praising GSS for such a promising start,” said Colin Mason, GSS Ghana Country Manager. “He left with the closing comments that he would bear GSS in mind when their current contract is due to expire.”
“Long may the excellent working relationship continue,” added Francis Wormenor, Site Manager- AMS, Edikan.
