In celebration of Health and Safety week, numerous events took place in Ghana, focusing on the critical importance of responders taking care of themselves and how to react in case of an emergency incident.

As part of the training session, Dr. Ruth Ashidam (MD) presented the team with the five key factors to consider in order to lead a healthy lifestyle, followed by another session held at our client, Tullow Ghana Limited’s, Head Office. The training was managed by the HSE department at Tullow Ghana Limited, in coordination with the GSS HSE Manager, Maurice N. Avicor.

Mr. Alex Clerk, GSS Ghana Site Manager, and Richard Quarm, GSS Ghana Supervisor, also took the GSS team in Takoradi through a fire safety training, where participants learned how to use some fire-fighting equipment.

Additionally, Mr. John Mensah, the training officer, emphasised on the importance of First Aid training at Anglogold Ashanti Iduapriem Ltd. (AAIL), located in Tarkwa.

“We were pleased to meet all the instructors and learn more about the importance of HSE” said Maurice, GSS Ghana HSE Manager, “we are confident that the training sessions will emphasise GSS’ achievements, highlights and the way forward in this field at the company.”
