Djibouti team puts health and safety first

15th June 2020

With an increase in the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Djibouti, our team has taken many measures to protect one another and various stakeholders, as well as to support the government in their fight against the virus.

Being one of the largest players in the Djibouti Free Zone, BMMI made a donation of five million Djiboutian Francs to the Ministry of Budget’s special entity dedicated to combating the spread of COVID-19, as part of our commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen during these challenging times.

Furthermore, the team’s safety and wellbeing have been a top priority, with rotational schedules put in effect, masks worn on work premises, weekly awareness sessions taking place and informational leaflets distributed to employees. Additionally, in line with governmental advice to corporations, testing of our employees for the COVID-19 virus took place on site.

The team has continued to have a very positive and can- do attitude, said Country Manager, Yussury Kallouche. “We have been able to keep ourselves protected as much as possible by following very strict procedures. The team is really showing the right attitude and have displayed their devotion and dedication to one another’s safety and to our clients. I am very proud of their Winning Hearts attitude and how quickly they have adapted new safety measures in the office and in dealing with customers and suppliers, as well as the huge support they show to one another.”
