BMMI Djibouti conducts a series of HSE training
18th November 2014BMMI Djibouti has recently collaborated with the Chief Fire Officer of the Djibouti Port World to conduct a series of training on fire safety and first aid.
It started with firefighting and evacuation, which involved educating the GSS staff on fire hazards and control measures, as well as the correct usage and selection of fire extinguishers. Additionally, employees learned about the fire emergency plan, routes and exits and participated in a fire evacuation drill.
Besides fire safety, they were also given a course on basic first aid, to remind them that they too can make a difference in saving someone’s life.
“It shows employees how to recognise the types of injuries that occur most frequently in workplace situations, as well as the basic first aid techniques that can be useful in these situations,” said Suttish Boodoo, BMMI IMS Manager. “We were proud to see our team being proactive and have the urge to learn and ask questions, in order to excel in implementing all these techniques.”
